Octink has played an integral part in the launch of a new pop-up cafe and restaurant in the heart of Brentford High Street. The Docking Station will offer a variety of drinks and food as well as immersive video gaming experiences on the latest consoles including Xbox Kinect and Sony PlayStation and exists thanks to the inspiration and hard work of young people from across Hounslow borough in conjunction with local businesses and community partners.
The recipe of food, drink and video games was the inspiration of students at Hounslow Manor School, winners of the Social Enterprise High Street Challenge – a local pilot scheme challenging young people in Hounslow secondary schools to develop a business plan for an empty shop in Brentford High Street in just eight weeks. Staff from Octink were involved in the entire selection process, a video of which is available to watch here.
Octink has been creating pop-up environments for a long time and, together with our vast experience and ability to meet challenging deadlines, we were able to provide free materials, time and expertise to assist construction students from the Feltham Skills Centre in creating a vibrant and welcoming cafe. Octink worked alongside The Hounslow Education Business Partnership and other key community partners to deliver this project.
Will Tyler, CEO Octink and trustee of Docking Station commented “We are delighted to have worked in collaboration with other community partners to help make this fantastic project reality. The Docking Station promises to inspire and encourage young people throughout the local area for the foreseeable period, and is a bright and welcome addition to Brentford High Street.”
