Octink has today joined London’s premier carbon club by signing up to a pioneering carbon management scheme backed by the Mayor of London, the Green500, which aims to address carbon emissions and take action against climate change.
The Green500 is an environmental programme funded by the London Development Agency to support the Mayor’s target to cut emissions in the capital by 60 per cent by 2025. The Green500 intends to bring together responsible organisations from across the capital with a significant presence in London and encourage them to work together to reduce the city’s carbon emissions.
Boris Johnson, Mayor of London, said: “I warmly welcome Octink to the Green500. This carbon cutting club, comprising of London’s top businesses, is leading the charge to tackle climate change. Becoming more energy efficient will reap dividends for the planet and help make companies leaner in tough economic times.”
Will Tyler, CEO of Octink, said: “We are very excited about joining London’s Green500, a scheme that shares our desire to take action on carbon emissions and the impact areas that exist right on our doorstep. We hope that being a part of the Green500 will assist us in working with, and encouraging our suppliers, clients, and employees to take similar action on carbon management in the future.”
