Green Giants Take The Stage!

Becoming the greenest business in Hounslow was one thing, but winning the South West London Green Guardian Awards, covering the boroughs of Kingston, Sutton, Merton, Wandsworth, Richmond, and Croydon, was just amazing! The awards ceremony at Epsom Race Course confirmed just that last Friday night as we competed against blue chip opposition to claim the top prize which was presented by Arctic explorer Pen Hadow.

Gaining recognition on such a grand scale, especially for a business like Allsignsgroup, goes a long way to repay the time and effort put in by so many people to become a more responsible business. Our first forays into adopting environmental policies were more on demand than any corporate desire to do the right thing, and by our own admission we “were horrendous recyclers”. However those days are long gone, and we now understand the competitive advantages that can be gained from having a robust CSR policy.

We have saved a small fortune by recycling our waste and cutting energy consumption. Client relationships have grown stronger and new business has been won in areas where we were previously less competitive. The business case for becoming a corporate and socially responsible company is therefore clear and it has set us apart from our competitors.

The Mayor of London, Boris Johnson, sent a congratulatory message to all the finalists saying:

I am absolutely thrilled to send on my congratulations to all those nominated, and the triumphant winners, of this year’s Green Guardian Awards. The amazing work being rewarded here is truly inspirational, and it demonstrates the real difference we can all make in making London greener and cleaner.

Well, thank you Boris! We are thrilled to have received such a fantastic accolade.
