CommunityMark Award

July 24 2009

I was delighted that Mike was able to attend a prestigious event at the House of Lords recently to receive our latest achievment, the Business in the Community CommunityMark award.

We are one of just nine new companies who were successful in achieving the national standard of community investment excellence. The list new achievers for 2009 includes BSkyB, Cadbury, EDF Energy, and Liverpool Football Club to name just a few, and through our combined effort have invested over £42 million in our respective communities through employee volunteering, corporate giving and fundraising, gifts in kind and other initiatives for the benefit of over 871,000 young people nationwide and 213,000 people in vulnerable or disadvantaged communities.

Mike is shown here accepting the trophy with:

• Stephen Howard, Chief Executive of Business in the Community
• Angela Smith, Minister of State for the Third Sector
