What Octink did this summer

September 22 2009

It recently struck me that with autumn almost upon us just how busy we have been in recent months. This summer we have worked on major events such as RHS Chelsea Flower Show, Goodwood Festival of Speed and Revival, and most recently at the UK School Games where I took the opportunity to spend the entire build up and breakdown of this event on site with our installation teams. This was a fantastic experience and reminded just how proficient our site teams have become in project management and delivery aside from the usual excellent quality, value and advice we like to bring to projects.

We have started winning awards too, especially for sustainability and recycling. Winning South West London’s Green Guardian Award, beating other companies from five London Boroughs, led us to The Sunday Times Green Company 2009 Awards. We came 6th in manufacturing and 45th overall for the whole of the UK. We are certainly trying to do our bit to reduce the impact of our business on the environment, and at both the Chelsea Flower Show and the UK School Games we were able to recycle and set aside for re-use vast amounts of signage and branding material that would have previously cost a small fortune to dispose of to landfill!

So all in all quite a summer, and not to forget our recent transition from Allsignsgroup to Octink, a rebrand that I hope will clearly position our core products and services away from our traditional remit as just a sign company.
